Happy Fall! Happy Autumn!!

My favorite time of the year has once again rolled around on the calendar. I love the cooler temps and the colors that fall like candy from the trees. I love the sound of dry leaves crunching beneath my feet and I love the way the wind swirls the fallen leaves like large colored snowflakes. Out of the storage boxes come my winter knitted scarves and cozy sweaters. Away goes the cotton yarns I am currently knitting  and into the basket go all the lovely shades of wool yarn. My mind races with inspiration and knitting challenge. Christmas gift lists begin and even as I sit here in my ice cold office typing this blog, I am warmed by the thought of holiday knitting!

This yarn, FRENZY by Universal has been a favorite for the fall. It is a blend of mostly wool, 75%, and acrylic, 25%,  and is very warm yet luxuriously soft. We just restocked these colors and have a great hat all knitted up as a sample. The color separation on this yarn is soft and gradual making the perfect gradation of color.

This is our fall standby favorite. Cascade 220 SUPERWASH wool yarn. The worker bee of our yarn stash. A sturdy wool in classic worsted weight, this is the yarn to reach for when we knit that fall sweater, that toasty hat, those outdoorsman socks. Plus, it is easy care and washable! Hurrah! Children's wear to knit that does not require fussy cleaning. ( Pictured here in my patient husband's hands; the first time he has modeled for me! )

Now, this is also me and I am pleased to say that I have added to my yarn stash already this fall as I have lined up all my knitting and crocheting through the holidays.

As always, we are open daily 11 -5 sometimes later and sometimes a few moments earlier. Give us a call and we will mail you some yarn to embrace and knit. Help is always available and feel free to come and sit and knit a bit. See our latest yarns, buttons and activities on our Facebook page and on Instagram, both under Diva Yarn. Until we meet again....happy knitting!
